Bastrop deputies seeking vehicle after woman’s killing
Bastrop sheriff’s deputies said they need the public’s help to track down a vehicle, which they believe 28-year-old Amber Taylor was in when she was fatally shot.
The vehicle is a black 2003 Mercedes-Benz C230K four-door sedan, sheriff’s officials said. The paint on the hood is faded, the windshield on the passenger side is cracked, the vehicle has minor rear bumper damage and the driver’s side front window may be missing or may have been recently replaced.
If you have seen this vehicle since Sunday, call 911, sheriff’s officials said. If anyone locates this vehicle, call 911 and do not approach it.
Taylor, who is from Paige, was found dead Monday morning on Wolf Lane and FM 535 in Del Valle. Her death was initially believed to have been a hit-and-run crash, but investigators noticed wounds not consistent with a crash, officials said. The Bastrop sheriff said she believes Taylor was shot in the vehicle and then thrown onto the roadway.
A preliminary autopsy found she died from gunshot wounds. Her death was ruled a homicide and is being investigated as a drug-related crime, officials said.
